Growing up in the Twin Cities, John Carlson had a view of the Vikings from afar as a fan.

Now he’ll have a chance to see it all up close and personal a member of the team, reportedly agreeing to a five year, $25 million contract with Minnesota, with $11 million of that guaranteed.

The Litchfield High School turned Notre Dame standout played in Seattle for his first three seasons, catching 137 passes for 1,519 yards and 13 touchdowns. He’ll likely pair with his former Fighting Irish teammate Kyle Rudolph to form a solid duo at the tight end position for the Vikings next season.
