Mon @ 2:40 pm – Facing criticism for the block that ended Berry’s season, Johnson took to his Twitter account today to defend himself. His strongest reaction came after being asked by one fan “if God made him take a cheap shot at Berry.”

“man shutup U clown ILL NEVER CHEAPSHOT A PLAYER ON THE FIELD! IDC if he my Enemy U Square! Last I checked a cut block was legal!”

– Bills wide receiver Stevie Johnson

The video of the play shows Johnson diving low to block Berry, but as it stands right now, it was entirely legal, according to league rules.

2:15 pm – One day removed from one of the worst losses in franchise history, the Chiefs received yet another blow this morning, with the news that safety Eric Berry will miss the remainder of the season with a torn ACL. Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network first broke the story.

Berry started all 16 games in his rookie season last year, earning a nod to the Pro Bowl, and giving the Chiefs leadership and tenacity in their defensive backfield, two things they haven’t had for quite some time.

Berry suffered the injury after returning from leg cramps early in the game, with wide receiver Stevie Johnson of the Bills delivering a legal, but low and dangerous, block to the back of Berry’s legs, taking him out of a play in the first quarter. Berry was helped to the sideline and left the field for the locker room shortly after, returning to the sideline in the second half to watch the remainder of the debacle unfold.
