History often has a way of repeating itself in surprising ways, and the NFL is no exception to that.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Packers linebacker Nick Barnett will miss the remainder of the season with a wrist injury, that is eerily similar to the one that Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher suffered a season ago, forcing him to miss the entirety of that campaign.
Barnett hasn’t given up hope as of yet, preferring to seek a second opinion on the injury before making a decision on whether to shut it down for good this year, but the initial prognosis was such that it’s almost a certainty that he’ll be on the injured reserve list by the start of next week at the latest.
The blow will a tough one for Green Bay, as Barnett has been one the team’s leaders on defense throughout his career, playing in 107 games over eight seasons and racking up 789 tackles, 15.5 sacks, and nine interceptions.
