In an effort to maximize their roster space for next Sunday’s game, Seattle has decided to release veteran offensive tackle Chester Pitts, after he reported pain in his surgically repaired knee during practice this week.
The Seahawks are hopeful that they’ll be able to bring Pitts back at a later point in the season, giving him time to finish recuperating from his injury, without sacrificing a valuable roster spot in the process.
Pitts spent his first eight seasons in the league with Houston, playing in 112 straight games, before signing with Seattle in the off-season.
