Nothing is set in stone, but the initial prognosis on Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo isn’t looking good for a quick recovery, as team owner Jerry Jones has told reporters that they expect Romo to be out for at least six weeks and possibly eight.
A detailed examination will almost certainly take place tomorrow morning, and depending on the results, Dallas could decide to end Romo’s season prematurely and roll with Jon Kitna as the starter going forward.
The injury comes at a bad time for the Cowboys, as they’ll have to find a workable option without resorting to a trade, as the deadline has come and gone for teams to send to players elsewhere.
Kitna started off extremely slow after replacing Romo in the first half last night, but finished strong, tossing two touchdowns that made the game much closer than anyone expected in the end.
