One day removed from sending Pro Bowl wide receiver Randy Moss back to Minnesota, the Patriots seem to have their sights set on re-acquiring an old friend themselves, in the form of wide receiver Deion Branch.
Nothing concrete has come through as of yet, but the word on the street is that New England quarterback Tom Brady has pushed for a trade to get Branch back from Seattle, as a possible replacement for the departed Moss. Obviously, Branch is nowhere near the caliber of receiver that Moss is, but he would provide a veteran presence opposite Wes Welker to keep opposing defenses honest.
Branch has spent the past four seasons with the Seahawks, after being traded away by the Patriots in 2006 for a first round pick, and has struggled immensely to regain the form he showed while playing in New England.
