Jennings unhappy with role in Packers offense

Over the past two years, Greg Jennings has asserted himself as the go to guy in Green Bay, catching 148 passes for 2,405 yards and 13 touchdowns, so it not surprising that he would express some displeasure with his role thus far in the Packers passing attack.

That said, the way in which he chose to display that frustration was definitely out of character, as he was visibly upset on the sideline during Green Bay’s disappointing loss last week against the Redskins.

In explaining his actions, Jennings indicated that the unrest is still there, making it clear that he expects to be a major part of the Packers offense going forward.

“Frustrated, that’s probably an understatement, honestly,” said Jennings. “You get frustrated in the game of football. Opportunities can be misconceived sometimes. Targets – they can be targets but they cannot really be targets. It’s a game where, when you get an opportunity, you’ve got to make the best of it. We’re going to make it happen.”

Given that he’s never been known for that type of behavior in his career, Jennings’ antics are almost certain to be an isolated incident, but if things continue on as they have this year, those frustrations will undoubtedly surface again.
