Giants not open to trade discussion on Jacobs

Rumors were flying in almost every direction last night, after New York running back Brandon Jacobs let loose his frustrations on the Giants sideline, and sent his helmet flying into the lap of a Colts fan in the stands.

But according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, there is no desire on the part of New York’s front office to seek out potential trading partners for Jacobs as right now, and they have not received any demands to do so from Jacobs either.

It’s obvious that Jacobs is unhappy being the team’s backup behind Ahmad Bradshaw, and given that there are more than a few teams in need of a quality rusher right now, it’s not surprising that he would prefer to be dealt someplace else to gain more playing time.

That said, the Giants clearly have plans for Jacobs this season and are not concerned with his latest temper tantrum, even though it may land him in hot water with the league before the week is over.

At any rate, Jacob’s frustration will likely continue on for the time being, unless of course an injury to Bradshaw paves the way for an increased role in the offense.

As always, we’ll keep you posted if anything changes.
