On paper this game looks to be a laugher, as Green Bay will be fielding a superior team in almost every aspect tomorrow afternoon at Lambeau Field, but the NFL has always been unpredictable, leaving an opening (albeit a small one) for Buffalo to sneak through to steal this game.
That said, it’s going to take one of the greatest performances the Bills have delivered as a team in recent memory to beat the Packers on their home turf, and the most cursory of glances at their roster will tell you that they simply don’t have the horses to get it done.
Green Bay should have a field day on both sides of the ball, even though Buffalo’s secondary is solid as they come, and the player that will benefit the most from that is Aaron Rodgers, who should have plenty of time to survey the field and find the open man waiting on the ball. Look for him to make up for his sub-par week one performance with a solid effort in this one.
Losing Ryan Grant for the entire season will definitely hurt, but the Packers have Brandon Jackson to take his place, so they should be okay in the running game for the time being. The Bills aren’t exactly known for their ability to stop the run, so Jackson could end up having a nice game as well.
The one threat that Buffalo has offensively is C.J. Spiller, who can change the complexity of the game in a heart beat with his tremendous speed. He’ll find the going pretty tough with the Packers defense, but if he finds an opening, he can take it the distance in a hurry.
There’s little doubt that the Packers will come out victorious in this one, and if the Bills turn the ball over early, expect a blow out to commence shortly thereafter.
Final Prediction: Green Bay 42 – Buffalo 17
