11:43 pm – Breathe easy Jets fans. Your long nightmare is finally over.
According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, the Jets and cornerback Darrelle Revis have agreed on a seven year contract extension tonight and Revis will be back with the team very soon. ESPN”s Adam Schefter first broke the story and has indicated that Revis’ new contract will be a franchise record, but won’t top the NFL record.
We’ll definitely have more on this as it comes out, but for now suffice it to say that New York head coach Rex Ryan has a lot more pull with Revis then most thought, and his meeting over the weekend at Revis’ home in Florida paid off in a very big way.
