It would seem to be a no brainer on the surface, but Cleveland has made a big push this week to get their top playmaker, receiver Joshua Cribbs, more active in their offense on Sundays.
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns have recognized just how exlosive Cribbs can be when he gets his hands on the ball, be it in the passing game or on special teams, and they’ve made a point of including him in their gameplans whenever possible.
Cribbs touched the ball just six times last week, in Cleveland’s 16-14 loss at home to Kansas City, but one of those plays gave the Browns a touchdown, as Cribbs streaked down field to haul in a 65 yard reception for the score.
Teams have been doing their best to avoid Cribbs on both kickoff and punt returns thus far, with the Chiefs going out of their way last week to limit his ability to impact the game in that area by kicking the ball to the up man in the return formation.
