The week had seemingly been a great one for Tom Brady, the Patriots’ franchise quarterback and three-time Super Bowl champion.
About to begin the 2010 regular season amidst rumors and speculation that he could soon be inking a long-term, big-money contract extension with New England, Brady’s attitude surely dropped a bit this morning when he was involved in a two-car accident at an intersection near the Back Bay area in Boston.
Thankfully, for both the Patriots, Brady, and the rest of the NFL (after all, the presence of Brady, while sometimes arguably annoying, is part of what makes the game so enjoyable), the veteran passer is okay after the crash, which sent a passenger in another vehicle to the hospital with serious injuries.
According to linebacker Tully Banta-Cain, head coach Bill Belichik informed the team that Brady might be a bit late to the team’s practice today because of the accident, and–despite indeed arriving after the start of the get-together–joined the rest of the roster as if nothing had occurred in the morning.
“I was hoping, obviously, that he was okay, but I saw him walking in. He had a smile on his face, no abrasions, so I think he’s fine.”
