It is a good thing for Jake to stay for his senior year. Certainly, it is good for Washington. Also, it would not be surprising that when he is finished with his pro career in the NFL, he very well could return to Washington and someday be the Head Coach of the Huskies.

Great post Kyle… I completely agree. Although I think Locker could very well end up sacrificing a significant amount of money by sticking it out in school, there's certainly something to be said about his decision in a world that glorifies players who do the exact opposite.

Jake is coming back to school to play football and help the UW program rise from the ashes. A history major, he is scheduled to graduate after this winter quarter. He is not on scholarship due to the $300,000.00 signing bonus he received from the Angles baseball club. They have his rights if he elects to play baseball. All he has to do is fine tune his QB skills under Coach Sark. In todays world, he is truely a breath of fresh air.

Sports writers that come out with opinions like Pete Futiak should be fired. Athletes need to finish school and not be encouraged by the media telling them they are making a mistake for passing up the quick money. No wonder this country is in the mess it is – its all about today and screw tomorrow. Pete – shut up. Fox – take away his bullhorn. Irresponsible all the way around. Pete – defend yourself if you can.

athletes who do not complete their education and go pro instead should not only have to pay back every dime of scholarship money they recieved but also have to pay for a scholarship for a non athlete
