A year ago, Brent Celek was a no name tight end on an Eagles team full of stars. Now he’s become one of those stars, cashing in on a huge payday with the Eagles after putting up tremendous numbers across the board so far this season.
According to multiple sources, Celek has agreed to an extension with Philadelphia that will pay him approximately $33 million over the next six seasons, with $11 million of that guaranteed. The contract is likely to finalized and announced at some point this week.
Celek has played extremely well for the Eagles this season, consistently providing QB Donovan McNabb with a reliable fallback option, and racking up 54 catches for 601 yards and five touchdowns.
