Citing sources close to the situation, ESPN’s Sal Paolantonio is reporting that Philadelphia and head coach Andy Reid have begun preliminary discussions on a contract extension to keep Reid with the Eagles for the foreseeable future.

Both sides seem to have a mutual desire to get a deal done sooner rather than later, but the sources stressed that there isn’t a specific timetable guiding the negotiations.
