Here’s the latest training camp buzz from around the league this morning…
- The Jets are happy with the progress that LB Vernon Gholston has made thus far, according to Mark Cannizzaro of the New York Post. Gholston had an awful rookie campaign last season, but he’ll have every opportunity to succeed under first year head coach Rex Ryan, who loves players with freakish size and potential.
- Jeff Duncan of the New Orleans Times-Picayune is reporting that Saints DT Sedrick Ellis is quietly having a very good camp and will be on the field for New Orleans for both passing and running situations.
- Former Bucs LB Derrick Brooks is set to visit the Saints tonight, and hopes he can sign a deal very soon, according to Mike Reiss of Boston.com (via Twitter).
- According to Sean Jensen of the St. Paul Pioneer-Press, Vikings RB Chester Taylor is comfortable with his role as a backup/third down option for Minnesota, and could potentially re-sign with the team next year instead of looking for a starting job elsewhere.
