Seattle’s defense had a difficult time stopping anyone last season. If Leroy Hill has anything to say about it, that’s going to change this year.

According to John Clayton (ESPN.com), the Seahawks have signed their former franchise LB to a six year contract worth an estimated $38 million, with $15.5 million of that guaranteed. Seattle rescinded the franchise tag they place on Hill earlier in the offseason after standout LB Aaron Curry was available with the 4th overall pick in last weekend’s draft.

The re-signing of Hill gives the Seahawks one of the leagues most talented group of linebackers, with Lofa Tatupu and Curry playing in the other two spots. Hill has had some difficulty with off the field incidents, but Seattle is seemingly unconcerned as they protected his signing bonus from any punishment he may receive as a result of his legal trouble.
