According to James Walker (ESPN.com), the Bengals have informed OT Levi Jones of his impending trade or release now that the team has drafted his replacement in the form of OT Andre Smith. Cincinnati selected Smith with the #6 overall pick in the draft last Saturday, and expect him to be their opening day starter at left tackle this fall.
Jones was selected in the first round of the 2002 draft, and was an effective starter at tackle for the Bengals for the first part of his career, however injuries and other issues derailed his playing time over the past three seasons. It’s expected that he would have more than a few suitors lining up to speak with his agent if he is released.
