The NFL finished up another round of discussions today on possible changes to the rulebook for next season, and announced that there will be no rule changes as of right now to the controversial overtime format currently in place.
Much of the backlash surrounding the sudden death rule has come from angry fans who feel dissapointed that their team was not granted an equal opportunity to score in the extra period, a la the current scheme in college football.
The Competition Committee spent a significant amount of time this off-season in surveying players, coaches, and other league execs from all 32 teams before reaching their conclusion that there is simply not enough support to change the way things are handled right now.
