The tragic death of Broncos CB Darrent Williams on New Years Eve two years ago has taken a turn for the better today, as the alleged shooter in the murder is expected to enter a plea in the case today.

Prosecutors believe that Willie D. Clark was responsible for Williams’ death, and have charged him with 39 counts including first degree murder, which could result in the death penalty should a jury find him guilty and recommend such a punishment.

Williams was gunned down while riding in a limousine in downtown Denver with former Broncos WR Javon Walker. Apparently, Williams’ group and Clark engaged in a war of words outside of a nightclub, leading Clark to chase down Williams’ limo, and spray the vehicle with bullets. Williams passed away shortly thereafter in the arms of Walker, who has struggled to regain his form as one of the top receivers in the league since that night.
