Jerry Jones non-committal on Owens’ future in Big D

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones bounced around the subject of WR Terrell Owens and his continued employment with the team during a press conference yesterday, fueling the speculation that Dallas may still be considering their options with Owens this off-season. Jones hinted at the team’s current position with Owens, but stayed away from dismissing the talk of his release outright.
“You and I both know that the one you’re asking about all the time, if I gave you the answer you want to hear, then you would’ve already had it. So the fact you don’t have it ought to tell you something.”
“There are several decisions on our roster we have to look at. This is the time of year we do that. I’m not trying to be trite, but as you all know we’re evaluating players in college, we’re evaluating free agents and we’re evaluating our own roster. … Changes to (the roster) are pure speculation.”
Owens has been a productive acquisition for the Cowboys during the past few seasons, but his demeanor on and off the field have led many to question whether the team would be better off without him in the future.
Jones has been emphatic in asserting that the they will do whatever it takes to bring solid chemistry to Dallas next season, and given Owens antics in the past, the Cowboys could very well decide to move on without him.
