In a widely expected move, Dallas fired Bruce Read (Special Teams coach) yesterday. The Cowboys special teams were consistent underachievers under Read, and while the development of second-year kicker Nick Folk cannot be discounted, there were simply too many mistakes for Read to keep his job.
The Cowboys will wait for the time being before they fill Read’s position, and will likely look outside the organization.
