Giants stay close to home on defense

According to the Associated Press, the New York Giants have decided to go with their linebackers coach Bill Sheridan to fill their vacancy at defensive coordinator.

Sheridan will take over for the Giants previous DC, Steve Spagnuolo, who left the Big Apple to take the head coaching job in St. Louis on Saturday. Sheridan has been with New York as their LBs coach for the past four seasons and should maintain the same style of defense employed by Spagnuolo.
