Michael Smith (ESPN) is reporting that Raiders linebacker coach Don Martindale is now the front runner to become the team’s new head coach.
Martindale is a hot commodity around the league right now, with several teams looking to bring him in to become their defensive coordinator. That, along with Martindale’s close relationship with Oakland owner Al Davis is pushing the Raiders into giving serious consideration to him for the top job.
